Laboratory

The Department of Mechanical engineering, RMKCET has a total laboratory area of 20,000 Sq.ft of well equipped laboratories enabling the students to apply and verify the fundamentals that they have learned in classrooms. All the laboratories consists of Equipments/tools &accessories to fulfill the requirements of lab exercises as stipulated by Anna University, Chennai.

Engineering is a practicing profession, a profession devoted to harnessing and modifying the three fundamental resources that humankind has available for the creation of all technology: energy, materials, and information. The overall goal of engineering education is to prepare students to practice engineering and, in particular, to deal with the forces and materials of nature.

Experimentation and testing are at the root of modern engineering practice. While computer modeling allows significant analysis and design to be completed prior to hardware testing, the need for proper testing and experimentation is as great as it has ever been. Laboratory work is vital for improving and developing products and processes, validating designs and for gaining fundamental understanding of how materials, parts, components or systems will behave under a variety of conditions.
